It is with regret that I have to report the demise of Terry Eagles, a staunch Twister owner for many years. He moved up to a Rustler 36 in later years, but maintained a keen interest in all things Twister. A fellow member of mine at Hornet SSC, where he served on committees and working parties for 24 years. A valued naval constructor, he passed away at home on Thursday 3rd.Sept. Funeral at Portchester, 1300 on 17th Sept. afterwards at Hornet SSC.
A great loss to his family and many friends. He built 'Carousel of Kent' from a bare hull.
He was always ready to give advice and practical help. I remember telling him that I had to make a new wooden chock to fit between the mast step and the coachroof but I wasn't sure how to hollow out the curve on the underside of the chock to get a snug fit on the coachroof. Next time I went to my boat there was a plastic bag in the cockpit containing the curved wooden plane he had made especially for that purpose when building 'Carousel'.
He'll be greatly missed.
