Following Peter’s kind introduction in the recent e-mail, I felt an introduction here is in order.
i have been a fan of Twisters for many years, I had seen them on the water over a number of years and admired there shape and capabilities, particularly when dealing with the Solent chop. I owned a Stella for a few years and aspired to a Twister, however the opportunity never arose and the Stella had to go too.
Wind on 20 years and I now own a Fairey Huntsman, different boating tack for sure but still wood and a ‘classic’. Allan Beswick and I are members of the RNVRYC, and seeing his Twister reminded me off just how great they are, which also lead to joining the association.
From a professional perspective I hawk my wares as a Shipwright and Marine Engineer, particularly focusing on the jobs that bigger boatyards are not always keen to take on. I currently have the Twister, Wildfire of Wight in hand for a package of works ready for sale. The works include brightwork, topside paint and antifouling, planking repair and repair/replacement of internal joinery.
Based in Hants I tend to work between Chichester and Lymington, but I am happy to travel further afield, particularly for chippy work.
