I fitted lazy jacks not long ago but they have not been entirely successful. Although the forward part of the main is caught well enough when lowering, the after part falls over the lazy jacks. Obviously I have not got the geometry quite right and the lazy jacks need moving aft.
However, I have just been looking at the fine photo of Cracklin Rosie on the Home page and I see that her lazy jacks are unlike any others I have seen because they appear to consist of vertical lines suspended from the topping left instead of the usual cat's cradle suspended from near the spreaders.
I have tried enlarging the photo to see in detail how things are arranged but without success.
If Cracklin Rosie's owner reads this, I'd be grateful if he could post some information and maybe some photos or a sketch?
Does anyone else have experience of this system?

Hi John,
I wonder if this link is any use to you.
http://www.kempsails.com/marin.....stems.html
Kemp sails website has a small section on lazy Jacks. Ive not seen this design before, but in essence A line runs from the back of the boom to the mast. The line then runs down the mast and ties off to a cleat. Save attaching lazy jacks to the topping lift but would achieve the same effect. I has the added benefit of being easily adjustable.
Hope this is of use.
Thank you
Stephen
