Has anyone any experience of Fortress anchors? My bower CQR has been putting on weight in recent years. These days I need something that I can more easily handle over the bow. I thought a Fortress might do for overnighting and would double as a kedge/second anchor. Fortress info sheet shows the FX-11 as suitable for 28-32ft boat length. They say it weighs just 7 lbs!

Hi,

we have been looking at a Fortress fx11 as a kedge, they are nice and light and would be interested in hearing how you get on with it?
I hear there holding power in the right conditions is excelent/amazing and only negative I've heard is that they can bend. We recently got hold of a Mantus anchor as a bower but it is a big lump of thing to sit on the foredeck.

Hi Luke,

If I get one I will certainly report back but at the moment I was hoping to hear from someone who has one or has used one.
