Other Details: This boat was originally owned by Jack Holden when she was first commissioned and registered in Dartmouth. I have owned her since 1994 when she was transported to a local farm in Suffolk where I spent 6 years rebuilding the cockpit and part of the coach roof and replaced all electrics. She has been in constant use since re-launch in 2000 and has wintered ashore with mast down and full covered]. The chainplates were beefed up as per Twister Assn. recommendation as was the coach roof to deck joint. I have owned Silver Twister for 24 years and she has given pleasure and security especially when the going gets rough. The Monitor self steering is faultless, even maintaining reasonable control downwind under spinnaker. As with any Twister she is easily sailed single handed as all reviews will testify. Anyone who has decided to buy a Twister should already know about the class's capability to “go anywhere”. Fitted with Monitor self steering Silver Twister’s capability is enhanced even more. Built in 1966 by Uphams. Extensive rebuild 1994 - 2000, new cockpit and half coachroof replaced, electrics, boom, osmosis treated with West epoxy. Coachroof to deck joint beefed up. New standing rigging 2015. Recent refurbishment 2017- re-chromed window frames, two part Jotun polyurethane spray on topsides, all brightwork back to bare wood and Deks Olje D1 and D2 used. She’s a head turner.
